Training: Dr. Lauren Wadsworth earned her undergraduate degree at Smith College. She earned her Master’s and Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Dr. Wadsworth completed her pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School at the Behavioral Health Partial Program, the OCD Institute (OCDI) and the College Mental Health Program. Dr. Wadsworth became Board Certified in Clinical Psychology in 2021. Dr. Wadsworth founded Genesee Valley Psychology (GVP), clinic offering evidence-based treatment in New York State. She is also the founder of Meridian Practice.
Clinical Expertise: Dr. Wadsworth specializes in the treatment of severe Anxiety Disorders, including OCD, Social Anxiety, and Panic Attacks in adults, children, and adolescents. Dr. Wadsworth uses evidence-based therapies, namely Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Therapy/Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) with added elements of other acceptance-based behavioral therapies. Dr. Wadsworth also specializes in work with individuals who identify as sexual and/or gender minorities (i.e. members of the LGBTQIA+ community).
Diversity & Inclusion: Dr. Wadsworth's clinical and research work are both largely informed by a commitment to continuously becoming a more culturally competent clinician and researcher. Dr. Wadsworth offers trainings on Identities, Inclusion, and Diversity in Business and Academic settings, through Twin Star Diversity Trainers. Dr. Wadsworth is the author of Did That Just Happen?! Research: Dr. Wadsworth's research explores prevalence and treatment of anxiety and depression in marginalized populations across identities (e.g. gender, sexual orientation, race, etc).
